Grafton Notch, Maine

The state park occupies 3,129 acres surrounding Grafton Notch, the mountain pass between Old Speck Mountain and Baldpate Mountain. The Appalachian Trail passes through here. Moose Cave is in a 600-foot gorge carved from granite by glacial melt water – the cave got its name from an unfortunate moose who fell in. Table Rock is accessible by the Appalachian Trail. The path to the top of Table Rock was one of the steepest trails I have been on.
