Waterton Lakes National Park
Waterton Lakes National Park borders Glacier National Park in Montana to the south, together making up the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.
Forest fire smoke was present once again and obscured the mountains. This time most of it was from the states. I did manage to take a picture of the Prince of Wales Hotel, the Rod Rock Canyon, and a the first bears I have seen since entering Canada about a month ago. They are black bears – the first one on Red Rock Canyon road and the mother with cubs on the road back from Waterton Village.
I have driven 9,000 miles so far on this trip and now I leave the mountains and head home on the Trans-Canada Highway.
