Trinity, Newfoundland
On the way to Bona Vista, I stopped at Trinity. Trinity has preserved or reconstructed many of its older buildings of the 1800’s when it was more successful. Enactors are available to answer questions. There is a blacksmith shop, a cooperage (barrel maker), a mercantile store and a counting house to show how it was done in the old days. The preservation of Trinity’s cultural and built heritage has made it perhaps the most notable “heritage community” in the province.

Skerwink Trail near East Trinity is a three mile loop with amazing coastal scenery and sea birds. Although I didn’t see any whales, eagles, or icebergs they can be seen here sometimes.
