Canyonlands National Park – Needles Area
I was too slow in reserving a jeep tour in the Needles but we were able to see quite a bit by driving the roads accessible by regular passenger vehicles.
We stopped first at Newspaper Rock Archaeological Site which has petroglyphs thousands of year old and continuing to later times. It’s one of the best petroglyph sites I have seen.
Besides needles and mushroom hoodoos, we were also able to see temporary puddles on the mesa where tadpole shrimp manage to survive at Pothole Point.
