Hovenweep National Monument
Hovenweep National Monument is largely known for the six groups of Ancestral Puebloan villages, there is evidence of occupation by hunter-gatherers from 8,000 to 6,000 B.C. until about AD 200. Later, a succession of early puebloan cultures settled in the area and remained until the 14th century.

We also visited the Blanding Dinosaur Museum. The stop action Brontosaurus model was the one actually used in the original King Kong (1933). It was also modified with cables to allow it to rise out of the water. Theriziniosaurus, although an herbivore, resembles an elephant sized scissor hand chicken. Deinonychus was originally modeled without feathers but later evidence indicated it did have feathers. Both are shown here.
