Islands north of Seattle
To avoid driving through Seattle to get to Olympic National Park we drove over bridges from island to island and took the ferry to Port Townsend.

Olympic National Park
This park, like North Cascades, is mostly wilderness with no roads. You can get a great view from Hurricane Ridge, however, with almost a full 180 degree vista. Some of the plants and animals are unique because this area was not covered by continental glaciers during the ice ages.
